Arabic

For Term 2, all the Arabic classes have been very busy. Students are still remembering all the class rules and responsibilities, as well as the class routines. I’m very pleased to see students are well organized and they are building onto their reading and listening skills during class times.

The Year 2 students have been concentrating on learning the names of colours in the Arabic lessons. Well done! They are able to write and read the words, like red, green, blue, purple and black. All have been doing an amazing job! Year 2 students have been participating in different activities relating to the topic “Colour” in class by using flash cards, and matching words with the correct pictures. They really enjoyed these games. They are also learning to do different patterns using two or three colours.

In relation to MyEd, every fortnight there will be an activity that needs to be completed online to support the students’ learning. One of the new platforms we have introduced this year is Quizlet for year 2,3,4,5 and 6 students. It is a fantastic program that allows students to stay on top of the new vocabulary they have been learning in class. Please encourage your child to use these words more often.

Years 2s and 3s will have weekly homework. Please make sure your child completes the homework tasks and brings them back to school.

This year I’m teaching Year 2 Integrated Studies and for this term, they will be introduced to Geography. The topic that we’re covering this term is: “Exploring local and more distant places.” The students are learning about places, the map of Australia and looking at the world map. They will find the location of neighbouring countries around Australia.

Thank you for your support and I wish all families a Happy Eid.
